FGURA UNITED 5 LIJA IKLIN 0
First of all on behalf of our coach Tony Muscat, I would like to say a huge well done to my team for their constant dedication and perseverence and in placing third in the league, even though we didnt even have a preseason together as a team. Today, even though we had key players missing, namely Alberta Cassar and Alysa Cachia, we played a very fair game vs Lija, and even gave our reserves the chance to play in the final game of the league.
Lija did their best to try and score, but we managed to keep the ball in their side of the pitch for most of the time. Having said that, in the 35th min our goalie Corinne Falzon had to make a great save, when Lija made a surprise attack and came close to scoring. By this time we were already 2-0, with goals coming from Eliana Gialanze and Shana Debono. In the 38th min Eliana managed to make the score read 3-0.
After the halftime, we continued with our pressure and in the 48th min Veronica Juste scored another goal. Today all reserves played in the game. In the 46th min Eva Jansson substituted Julie Busutil, in the 56th min Krystie Calleja substituted Annemarie Mallia, Olivia Runco went instead of Veronica Juste in the 70th min and the last two subs were made in d the 78th min, when Beverly Abela and Sephora Scerri substituted Analise Farrugia and Eliana Gialanze respectively. Our final goal came in the 87th min when our captain Jackie Abdilla scored a great goal after after a pass from Shana Debono. The final score was 5-0. Well done to both teams for a very fair game.

FGURA UNITED 2 KIRKOP UNITED 2

This must have been one of the best games we have every played. All the Fgura players played as one throughout the game, till the very end. It was a very well balanced game, as the final score shows, with both teams having their chances at goal. We definetly started off on a good note, when in the 04th and 06th min simultaneously, through crosses by Shana Debono, first Eliana Gialanze then Karen Schembri, scored two goals to make the result read 2-0 in the first 6mins. This infuriated the Kirkop team who made every effort to shorten the score. Infact they managed to score a goal in the 31st min of the first half, to make the halftime score read 2-1.
The second half continued were we had left off, with both teams giving their 100% to try and score again. Unfortunately one of our defenders, Alberta Cassar, was red carded in the 68th min for a foul in the penalty area. The Kirkop team were awarded a penalty, but our keeper Marieclaire Polidano denied Kirkop the pleasure of getting a draw at that point in time. This gave us more courage. In the 78th and 85th min our coach made two changes to the team, when Analise Farrugia substituted Beverly Abela, and Vicky Sciberras substituted Veronica Juste. The Kirkop team were determined more than ever to at least gain a draw from this game, and in the 86th min they finally managed it. This dampened our spirits abit as we had been winning till the very end. However, considering that we played the full 90mins with all our courage and determination, against a team who has been promoted to First Division, I truly beleive that our team deserves a very well done. We gave as good as we got, and for most part we were on top. So well done Fgura United, we played as one, and this showed in our game throughout, from our goalie to the defenders to the midfielders and to the attackers

FGURA UNITED 1 RAIDERS LUXOL 3

I must say that the score does not do us justice. It was practiclly a well balanced game throughout. Till the first 13mins of the first half both teams had a chance each at goal, with both goalies making great saves. In the 38th min our captain Jackie Abdilla had a goal annulled for a presumed offside. Shana Debono had given a perfect freekick which our captain had headed straight into the net. However the first half ended 0-0.
In the 2nd half Luxol came out on the attack and in the 49th and 50th min managed two goals to make the score read 2-0 in their favour. However Fgura United immediately picked up their first half rythm and and from another great cross byShana Debono, Karen Schembri shot the ball straight into the Luxol net, making the score read 2-1. This gave us a sense of determination and the rest of the game was very well balanced between both teams. In the 75th min Alysa Cachia, who had substituted Leona Tabone in the 69th min, saw her shot at goal saved by the Luxol goalie. In the 78th min Luxol once again scored making the score read 3-1. This goal dampened our spirits, as we definetly did not deserve such a harsh result. In the 82nd min our coach made his final substitution, when Claire Gerada went in instead of Veronica Juste, who was slightly injured. Both teams played a great and fast game. The final score read 3-1 in Luxol's favour.

VITTORIOSA 2 FGURA UNITED 2
Today we had five key players missing from our line-up, however I must truly congratulate our team on playing a great game even when the going was tough.
The first 30 mins were shared between both teams, but we managed to open the score in the 35th min, when from a freekick Shana Debono shot the ball past the gaoler to make the score read 1-0. In the last few mins of the first half we had another chance at goal which was cleared by the Birgu goalie.
The 2nd half was tougher on us, as we had to change our goalie and even a good player. Claire Gerada was substituted by Sephora Scerri at the start of the 2nd half. Birgu managed to equalise in the 60th min. Our player Krystie Calleja was injured and had to be substituted. Infact since we didn't have any more players at our disposal, Corinne Falzon went in goal instead of Marieclaire Polidano, and Marieclaire herself played instead of Krystie. Birgu managed to score once again to make the score read 2-1 in their favour. However Marieclaire Polidano herself made her debut as a scorer when she managed to bring the score 2-2 with a great shot which went past the Birgu goalie.
We played a very good game and a big well done goes to all those players present today.

ST VENERA 0 FGURA UNITED FC 5
As one can see from the result we had another great game which we won hands down. However having said that, I cannot help but say that I admire the spirit that the St Venera players played their game, after fielding only 9 players, including the goaler. It was a pity that so much foul language was used by some of their players.
Even though we started off by scoring in the 9th min from a free kick by Shana Debono, after being herself fouled by the St Venera goalie, it took us till the 34th min to really settle down and play our game. In that instance our player Veronica Juste scored the first of her three goals, all assisted by Alysa Cachia, then again in the 40th and 44th min. The halftime score read 4-0.
At the start of the 2nd half our coach made two changes when Beverly Abela substituted Analise Debono, and Karen Schembri went in instead of Shana Debono. In the 53rd min Vicky Sciberras was shown a yellow card for arguing with the referee. Eliana Gialanze scored our last goal of the game in the 75th min. St Venera did their utmost to try and score, but being just 9 players finally took its toll and the last 15mins of the game was mainly played in their part of the field. All our players had a part in making this a memorable game, be it the attackers, midfielders or defenders. A big well done goes to them all. Olivia Runco was our last substitute when she went in instead of Veronica Juste.

LIJA IKLIN 0 FGURA UNITED 5
As one can see from the score we dominated most of the game and even lost some really good scoring chances. However having said that, Lija Iklin gave a good game and even had their chances at goal 3 times, which our goalie Marieclaire Polidano saved.
Our first 4 goals came in the first half of the game with great goals from Shana Debono, Veronica Juste twice and Eliana Gialanze. The Lija goalie played a great game and saved good shots by Veronica Juste more than once. In the 2nd half our coach Tony Muscat made some changes to the team when Alysa Cachia went in instead of Claire Gerada, Beverly Abela instead of Leona Tabone and Olivia Runco instead of Veronica Juste. We also had a penalty on our striker Veronica Juste, which our captain Jackie Abdilla scored to make the final result read 5-0 in our favour.

KIRKOP 2 FGURA UNITED 0

As you can tell from our line-up we only had two reserves, as most of our players were sick. However, I beleive that the game was a well balanced one, especially in the first half, were the score remained 0-0. Both teams had their chances, with Kirkop hitting the post twice, and our goaler Marieclaire Polidano having to make two great saves. Our striker Alysa Cachia saw her one on one with the Kirkop goalie, cleared into a corner by a player.
Both Kirkop goals came in the 2nd half of the game, in the 09th min and 19th min. Up till the first goal we held our ground, however I believe that after that we became tired. We still gave our all and the ball was constantly going up and down the pitch. However when in the 19th min we suffered a 2nd goal, it was tougher and the coach even made some tactical changes on the pitch, strenghtening the defense. However in the end it was Kirkop who won, with the final score reading 2-0.

LUXOL FC 2 FGURA UNITED FC 0
For most part of the first half play was in the hands of Luxol, up till the 35th minute, where they created several chances at goal, with both their goals arriving within the timeframe of 7mins, the first in the 8th min and the second in the 14th min. Our side created the only clear chance at goal in the 38th min, when Eliana Gialanze managed to lob the ball over the Luxol goalie , to see her shot thwarted and cleared by a Luxol defender just in the nick of time. The half time score read 2-0.
In the 2nd half, both teams made some changes. In our case the changes were done in the hope of obtaining a better result. Alysa Cachia went instead of Julie Busutil in the 53rd min, Analise Farrugia instead of Beverly Abela in the 59th min, Victoria Sciberras instead of Leona Tabone in the 70th min, and finally Annemaria Mallia instead of Evelina Jansson in the 77th min. Unfortunately as a result of keeping our oppositions score to the minimum, our captain Jackie Abdilla committed a penalty in the 57th min, which attempt taken by the Luxol goalie, hit the crossbar and kept the score at 2-0. Throughout the game our goalie Marieclaire Polidano managed a number of saves, allowing this to be a possibility. Our striker Alysa Cachia had a few opportunities at goal, which were saved by the Luxol goalie.
The game ended 2-0 in Luxol’s favour.

FGURA UNITED FC 3 VITTORIOSA 2
This was a well deserved win. We played a great game, each and every player on the pitch gave her 100% and Vittoriosa were worthy opponents all the way. It wasn't an easy match, but we played great football and managed to keep on going till the final whistle.
In the first two mins of the game we managed to hit the post, even though it was Birgu who opened the score in the 5th min. However we immediately regained our composure and drew from a great goal by Karen Schembri, who had received the ball from a perfect cross by Julie Busutil. From then on we continued attacking throughout the game. In the 31st min we had another great chance at goal, when our captain Jackie Abdilla personally dribbled the ball all the way down to Birgu's half and passed the ball to Eliana Gialanze, who however shot straight at the goaler. In the 32nd min our goaler Marieclaire Polidano had to be substituted by Corinne Falzon, after being injured in a tackle with a Birgu player. In the 34th min Eliana Gialanze once again saw her shot saved by the Birgu goalie. In the 41st min Veronica Juste scored a great goal after a pass from Eliana, making the halftime score read 2-1 in Fgura's favour.
The first 20mins of the 2nd half saw both teams trying their best to score and it was Birgu, who in the 77th min made the score read 2-2. Our coach Tony Muscat made the 2nd substitution of the game when Alysa Cachia went instead of Claire Gerada. We continued on our attacking spree and Birgu did their best to keep us away from their goalpost. In the 81st and 88th min Beverly Abela and Victoria SCiberras substituted Julie Busutil
and Analise Farrugia. In the final mins of the game our striker Alysa Cachia was given a great ball which she diligently dribbled past the goaler and shot straight at goal, making the final score read 3-2 in our favour. We are all very happy with the outcome of the game, as we played well and deserved a win.

FGURA UNITED 0 ST VENERA 3
The first half of the game was well balanced even though St Venera managed to score in the 18th min. The weather was very windy and did not allow room for proper football to be played.
In the 2nd half we saw a direct shot from our defender Beverly Abela bouncing off the St Venera goalkeeper and shot wide by our player Eliana Gialanze. We had our chances at goal, however it was St Venera who managed to score two more goals in the 64th and 78th min simultanously making the final score read 3-0.
Infact our coach Tony Muscat decided to utilise all 5 substitutions to let all the players have a go at play.
Thanks and regards

FGURA UNITED 7 LIJA IKLIN 0

The first half was very frustrating for us because even though the game was balanced, we had four clear shots at goal which did not materialize.
However the 2nd half was a different matter all together. On entering the pitch Claire Gerada opened the score for Fgura United with a pass from Alysa Cachia. 3mins later Alysa Cachia, Eliana Gialanze and Claire Gerada all had a clear chance at goal but somehow missed. However in the 51st min Eliana Gialanze managed to score once again. She went on to score two more goals, one in the 59th min and the other in the 65th. One goal came from a header by Shana Debono and the other from a header by Jackie Abdilla, after a foul on Alysa Cachia. In the 73rd min Alysa Cachia, from a pass by Jackie Abdilla, managed to make the score read 5-0. In the 83rd min our captain Jackie Abdilla even managed a goal herself to make the score read 6-0. The 7th and final score came from our striker Alysa Cachia in the 90th min.
As can be seen from the score, in the 2nd half Fgura United dominated the game throughout, and our goaler Marieclaire Polidano, who celebrated her 22nd birthday today, hardly had any dangerous saves to make. Our coach Tony Muscat, saw fit to make some changes to enable some of the reserves to play as well. Joanne MIzzi went in instead of Annemarie Mallia, Annalise Farrugia instead of Leona Tabone, Victoria Sciberras instead of Veronica JUste, and Sephora Scerri instead of Beverly Abela.
I would like to say a well done to my team, not only because of the score but rather for a game well played and a fair one at that

FGURA UNITED 1 RAIDERS LUXOL 4
The first thing I would like to point out is that the score definetly does not reflect the game. And whoever was there to watch, will certainly agree with me. However that is the game of football and the final score read 4-1, giving Raiders Luxol another 3 points in their favour.
In the first half of the game Luxol had just two shots on goal, while we had another two. Both goalies were practicaly there to shout and direct the teams.Otherwise none of them were rarely tested. Play was mostly centred in the middle.
The second half was a different story. We had a few chances at goal, however the Luxol goalie Sonia Farrugia managed to make some great saves. In the 59th and 65th min our coach made two changes to the team, which i beleive might have affected the direction of the rest of the game. After a steady play of 70 mins, our defence became tired and in the 70th and 73rd min Luxol managed two great goals. Our goalie for this game was Marieclaire Polidano, who was playing instead of our No.1 goalie Corinne Falzon, who was sick. Polidano played a good game throughout, irrelevant of the score. I truly beleive that apart from the 4 goals Luxol scored, they never once dented our defence, made up of Alberta Cassar, Jackie Abdilla, Claire Gerada and Leona Tabone, throughout the rest of the game. It was only once our defence got tired that they finally managed to penetrate and score. Whilst still 2-0, Alysa Cachia managed to narrow the margin to 2-1, with a great flick of the ball with her left foot, after a cross from Shana Debono. However immediately after we suffered two goals in succession, and this destroyed our moral. We made another two changes in the 85th min. However, the end result remained 4-1.

VITTORIOSA 2 FGURA UNITED FC 2

Well to be honest, I can't really say it was a great game. Even though Vittoriosa scored 2 goals in the first half, they didn't really play a good game. We just didnt play our game at all. Their first goal in the 6th min, came from a penalty which could have easily been avoided from our side. And their second goal was just a complete misunderstanding between our goaler and the defence. We had around 7 clear chances at goal in the first half, which we did not materialise.
However the 2nd half started out on a good note for us, when our striker Alysa Cachia managed to place a ball at the corner of the net past the Vittoriosa goaler. This gave us hope and the team started playing much better. The defence guided by Jackie Abdilla, played well and were rarely tested, even though the Vittoriosa striker tried her best to get past them. In the 68th min Eliana Gialanze scored a 2nd goal for Fgura, which gave us more and more hope. However, the Vittoriosa goalie played a very good game, and saved her team from more goals. Our coach made some changes in the team by substituting Vanessa Mizzi instead of Annemarie Mallia, who was injured. Veronica Juste instead of Krystie Calleja, and Alberta Cassar instead of Beverly Abela. I have to say that the referee didn't help much, as the Vittoriosa team were rough and tough most of the time and he didn't even stop for a foul, even when it was crystal clear that a foul had occurred in our favour. But i guess that's football.
The final score of the game read 2-2. We weren't happy with the result as we all knew we could have done better. But i still beleive that for a team who has just started this season, and have been training together for only a month, we played a decent game, and improved very well in the 2nd half to manage a draw of 2-2.

ST VENERA 2 FGURA UNITED FC 4

This has been the best start to the new season any team would want, let alone a team who has only been training together for the past three weeks. We managed to show our teamwork and coordination in all aspects of the game, in the attack with Alysa Cachia, Eliana Gialanze and Karen Schembri, as well as in the defence with Jackie Abdilla, Leona Tabone, Beverly Abela and Claire Gerada. Our midfield had a good stronghold in the form of Krystie Calleja, Shana Debono and Annemarie Mallia. And finally but definitely not the least our goaler Corinne Falzon, who even though conceding two goals, played a great well balanced game even when directly involved with a player.
In the first minutes of the game even though with two goals down, one from Karen Schembri and the other from a direct freekick by Krystie Calleja, St Venera gave as good as they got, and managed to level the score by the 22nd minute. However a foul in the penalty area in the 26th min on our striker Alysa Cachia, gave Eliana Gialanze the chance to put Fgura United in the lead once again making the halftime score read 3-2.
In the 2nd half St venera tried all their best but were no match for the teamwork shown by our team, even when our coach Tony Muscat made three changes with Marieclaire Polidano, Vanessa Mifsud and Kimberly-Jo Fenech substituting Annemarie Mallia, Beverly Abela and Leona Tabone. We continued pressing throughout the 2nd half and even managed another goal when in the 72nd min a pass from Shana Debono to Alysa Cachia saw this same player lob the ball over the St Venera goaler, making the final score read 4-2.
