Fgura United 1 – 3 Raider Luxol

Raiders Luxol managed to extend their unbeaten run after they picked up another win against Fgura United.
The result, however, does not reflect how balanced the actual game really was.
The score was opened in the second half with a two-minute double from Raiders Luxol’s Rodienne Zerafa (49) and Rodienne Borg (51). Fgura United’s Karen Schembri (53) managed to shorten the gap giving her team a lifeline. In fact, Fgura United, under coach Tony Muscat, were reinvigorated and tried their best to get the draw, but it was Raiders’ Rodienne Zerafa(79) who sealed the win for her team after a quick and lethal counterattack.
With a number of first team players unavailable, Fgura United managed to garner a 2-2 draw with Vittoriosa Stars.
The match was a very balanced one with a lot of the play focused in the middle of the ground. Fgura United controlled most of the possession and the game and were unlucky to still be losing by 1 goal in the second half. They justly managed to get the equalizer late in the game.
Fgura United delegate, Lorraine Zammit, said that the hard-earned draw was the result of a wonderful showing of determination from all the players, even more so when Krystie Calleja was injured. The Injury had caused a number of players to change their position, including goalkeeper, Marie Claire Polidano. It was the same Marie Claire Polidano who finally equalized for Fgura United earning a 2-2 draw.
